If you can’t decide what to have for lunch and tired of eating the same foodstuff here’s a healthy pocket bread recipe for you. You don’t have to have diabetes to eat this either. Of course, it’s not even a sandwich since its pocket bread. I like to use pocket bread since you can stuff it full of veggies. In addition, you can spread hummus on the inside of the pocket bread. Did you know you can buy a hummus that is gluten free, 0g Trans Fat and 0 mg of Cholesterol? You sure can and it tastes delicious! Are you watching your sugar intake? Ingredients: 2-3 slices of turkey
1 pocket bread
2 tablespoons of Sabra Hummus
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar (optional)
1-2 romaine lettuce leaves
1 small sliced tomato
1 small sliced avocado
Open the pocket bread and spread the hummus evenly. Place the slices of turkey inside with the lettuce leaves, sliced tomato and sliced avocado on top of the hummus. Pour the extra virgin olive oil and the apple cider vinegar on the contents. You won’t be hungry for awhile since this recipe contains good fats, protein, and the apple cider vinegar will balance your blood sugar.
