Spring arrives as early as March in the Central Florida area, bringing with it temperatures anywhere in the mid to high 70’s. This is a time when you want to not forget to put sun block on, because even though it may be cool out, the sun is beating down hard and you may still get sunburned. The weather makes it a perfect time to visit Walt Disney World.
Now that temperatures are warming up, the wildlife in Florida is starting to stir. March is one of the best times to explore Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground and spend time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. You might even get lucky at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and be treated to seeing some baby red river hogs.
Keep in mind that the crowd levels will start to increase in March, with everyone taking a vacation during spring break. However, crowds will still remain moderate during the month, unless Easter falls early in the year, which may bump up many spring breaks. If visiting during a busy time of the month, take full advantage of Disney’s FastPass+ system.
No Disney World visit in March is compete without spending time at Epcot and exploring the International Florida and Garden Festival. During this event you will be able to see a variety of exhibits, interactive attractions and enjoy activities all themed around having a green thumb. This festival features many kids’ activity stations and plenty of opportunities to shop from specialty home and garden vendors. (The International Flower and Garden Festival is included with theme park admission to Epcot.)
If you plan on dining at the Coral Reef and Le Cellier, this month, make sure to get your advance dining reservations because many guests visiting the festival will flock to these restaurants at lunch and dinner time.
Make your way to the World Showcase on March 17 because Epcot also hosts special festivities at the United Kingdom Pavilion for St. Patrick’s Day.
You will just have to visit the Walt Disney World Resorts and Theme Parks to find out why March is one of the best times of year to visit. Do not forget your cameras when you visit during March, because the beautiful weather and freshly blooming flowers make for a great backdrop when shooting photos at the parks and resorts.
