A Guide to Disney World in January

See also

January is one of the slowest times of the year for the Walt Disney World Resorts and Theme Parks. During this time of year everyone takes their time and the atmosphere at the parks are very laid back and relaxing. This is an ideal time to visit the parks and experience some of the many outdoor activities available throughout the parks and resorts.

Since many vacationers have made their way to Disney World for the holidays in December, the theme parks in January tend to be less crowded than normal. During this time it should be easier to get the room you have been wanting and dine in that restaurant you can never seem to get advanced dining reservations for.

Because the weather is mild and very comfortable throughout the month of January, this is the perfect time to enjoy Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. There you can go biking, hiking, horseback riding and camping all in one destination. This is the perfect time to visit this resort, mostly because the bugs and critters are hiding from the cooler temperatures.

January is the month when runners put on their running shoes and head to Disney World for the Walt Disney World Marathon. The marathon has events and activities for everyone in the family to enjoy and participate in.

One of the biggest perks of visiting Disney World in early January is that you do not have to deal with the crowds, but still be able to enjoy the holiday decorations. Many of the parks and resorts will leave the holiday decorations up through the first week of January.

The only issue you may run into when visiting the Disney parks during January is that many attractions may be closed for refurbishment. Since there is a low level of crowds during this time, Disney takes advantage to work on some of the rides, freshening them up for the busier seasons.

Hopefully this will help you prepare for your upcoming vacation to Disney World in January. Just keep in mind, there may be shorter lines, but theme park hours may also be cut short during this time of year. Keep checking back for a guide to each month of the year.

Happy vacationing!
