It’s that time of year again. The VMA’s, one of the most anticipated awards show, is almost here. This year, MTV is taking the Video Music Awards back to Cali. It will be hosted by James Franco on August 24.

As usual, this year is expected to be just as epic as the following years, if not better. Last year’s biggest winner of the VMA, Justin Timberlake, overwhelmed the show with his performance and mini-reunion with his former bandmates of *NSYNC. Timberlake stunned the audience with the *NSYNC reunion and incredible fifteen minute performance, making the night epic. The amazing, talented icon performer, Beyoncé is expected to take over the VMA’s this year as she is set to receive the honorary Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award.

If Beyoncé’s NFL Super Bowl XLVIII performance is any example of her event performances, we can only expect her takeover of the VMA’s to be unforgettable. She is constantly improving her shows down to the slightest details and works hard to give her fans the best of the best shows. Beyoncé dominating the event will once again make viewers of the VMA’s anxious for the day to come.

As you would expect, Beyoncé, Iggy Azalea, and Eminem dominate the nominations this year. Other popular artists nominated for Moonman awards include Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Sia and Ariana Grande.

Other than Beyoncé, artists such as Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Iggy Azalea, Rita Ora, Nicki Minaj and Usher are set to perform. The bar is set high for these performers with outrageous performances to outdo.

Miley Cyrus shocked fans with a provocative, controversial performance. She twerked against Robin Thicke, danced suggestively with a large foam finger and stuck her tongue out a lot. Everyone watching either cringed or absolutely loved it. Either way it was the most talked about performance of the year. Other talked about performances include the Britney-Madonna-Christina Aguilera kiss, Eminem with his many clones and of course, Beyoncé’s shocking announcement of her pregnancy during her performance.

Excited for the VMA’s this year? Tune in to MTV on Sunday, August 24, to see the most watched event.
