"Dancing with the Stars” Sseason 17 returns to ABC at 7:00 p.m. central. This year the format will run differently. It will air once a week, but it will have a two-hour format. Each week, they will feature a competitive dance, musical guests, and group performances. At the end of the first show, viewers can call in to help determine which couple will not continue in the contest. The premier show airs on September 16 and the first couple elimination will air on September 23.
“Dancing with the Stars” has an all-star line-up of female contestants who will pair up with the shows regular dance professionals.
Valerie Harper, who starred on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and had her own spin-off show, “Rhoda,” is like a miracle story. Valerie received the devastating diagnosis that she has terminal brain cancer and doctors gave her only three months to live. Now doctors are amazed because her cancer is close to going into remission. Valerie is the one to watch this season as she dances cancer out of her life. Valerie’s partner will be Tristan MacManus.
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, star of Jersey Shore and she has her own perfume brand, will be dancing with Sahsa Farber. Snookihas appeared on “Saturday Night Live,” and has been interviewed on numerous talk shows. Her picture adorned the front covers of best selling magazines like, US Weekly, In Touch and Rolling Stone.
Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, 41, will dance with Valentin Chmerkovsky. Fans may remember her from any one of her various roles on shows like “Saved by the Bell,” "CSI; Miami," “First Wives Club,” and “Roger Dodger.”
Leah Remini, from the hit shows and” will be paired with Tony Dovolanidance. The most notable or remembered role that Leah, 43, played was Carrie Heffenan on “The King of Queens. She also starred in “Saved by the Bell” where she played Stacey Carosi.
Amber Riley has dancing partner Derek Hough. Amber, 27, stars in "Glee" as Mercedes Jones. This actress, singer, and dancer won the award, Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
Christina Milian is multi-talented in the film, television, and theater and music industry. She formally starred in the show “The Voice.” Christina, 31, will have Mark Ballas as her dance partner. Some other shows that Christina appeared in was "CSI" and "A Gifted Man” and "Family Guy,” along with the movie “The Christmas Cupid.”
