Earlier this week it was announced that Aguilera heard A Great Big World's song "Say Something" and wanted to jump on the track. The duo - comprised of Ian Axel & Chad Vaccarino - accepted Xtina's offer and re-recorded their track with "The Voice" judge on it.
Entertainment Weekly premiered the duet version of "Say Something" on Sunday. On the delicate piano ballad, A Great Big World singer Ian Axel sings, "And I will stumble and fall / I'm still learning to love / Just starting to crawl." Aguilera supports Axel throughout and she pulls back from her usual vocal acrobatics for a lighter yet still heartfelt performance. She gives more voice to Axel's impassioned plea. It was an unexpected collaboration but Christina perfectly compliments A Great Big World with her feature. The single becomes even more spellbinding with her in the mix.
A Great Big World's debut album "Is There Anybody Out There" will be available for pre-order on iTunes on November 4. The duet version of "Say Something" with Aguilera will also be released that day. The duo and Xtina will perform the single on "The Voice" on November 5. The collaboration follows her recent single "We Remain" on "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" soundtrack.
