The 5th installment of the Bruce Willis “Die Hard” movie franchise opens in U.S. theaters Thursday Feb. 14, 2013 (Valentine’s Day). This next action film is titled, “A Good Day to Die Hard” & it stars Bruce Willis as the popular character of John McClane who serves up the wise cracks while beating up the bad guys. The last installment “Live Free or Die Hard” was 6 years ago back in 2007. According to the official website called ‘box office mojo’ which tracks movie theater grosses. “Live Free” brought in an estimated U.S. domestic total of - $134,529,403 (million) plus a foreign total of - $249,002,061. That movie production budget totaled $110,000,000.
20th Century Fox unveiled recently a life size mural of Bruce Willis as John McClane on the Fox back lot. The studio is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the “Die Hard” films which began in 1988. Bruce Willis was joined by his “Good Day to Die Hard” co-stars - Jai Courtney - Rasha Bukvic - Yuliya Snigir - director John Moore & 20th Century Fox film chairman Jim Gianopulos for the presentation of the building mural.

With the Russian underworld in pursuit - and battling a countdown to war - the two McClanes discover that their opposing methods make them unstoppable heroes (written by ‘guy’ from Estonia).

Movie theaters have seen as of late the resurgence of 1980s action stars in the last few years. Willis appeared with Sylvester Stallone & Arnold Schwarzenegger in “The Expendables” (2010) & “The Expendables 2” (2012). Within the last month Arnold starred in “The Last Stand” (Jan. 2013) & Stallone in “Bullet to the Head.” (Feb. 2013). All these action stars are over the age of 60 & film audiences still want to see them - even as they run a little slower than usual.
