Policeman John McClane (Bruce Willis) travels to Moscow, Russia to assist his recusant son Jack (Jai Courtney). Once he's there, he discovers that Jack is actually a specialized CIA agent whose job it is to thwart a nuclear weapons heist.
While the two have very different modes of operation, they nevertheless, combine forces in this symbiotically successful endeavor.
Jack: I'm on a mission.
John: ...kill all the scumbags.
John: Traffic sucks here, too.
John: We can just go home.
John: Well, let's do what we do.
