A funny event to help out a serious cause

A comedy event is being held on Friday, March 8, 2013, at 7:00p.m., at Screenland in the Crossroads of Kansas City as a benefit for Shave to Save Kansas City and the American Cancer Society. This comedy show features the humorous talents of Brad Meehan, Jeff Vaughn, Mike Smith, and Sean Brennan; with music provided by DJ Nelly Nel. The comedy show is a benefit for the VML's 12th Annual Shave to Save shavees: Melissa Green, Blake Caldwell, and Tammy Buckner.

Shave to Save is am event that benefits The American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge which provides free housing for patients, while receiving their cancer treatments, and their families when needing to travel to Kansas City for an extended period of time. The Hope Lodge relies on donations from the community and friends raised through Shave to Save to keep the doors open. One hundred percent of all donations and sponsorship goes directly to fund he Hope Lodge's day-to-day operations.

The 12th Annual Shave to Save Benefit and Auction will take place at the Midland Theatre on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at 6:00p.m. VML, a local digital marketing agency is the founding sponsor for Shave to Save, from which Melissa Green, Blake Caldwell, and Tammy Buckner are committed to raise $5,000.00 each. Upon reaching their goal, they will be shaving their hair during the event.

Tickets for the Friday evening fundraiser are available for general admission at $15.00 per person. The Fancy Pants VIP tickets are also available for $25.00 per person and includes Happy Hour from 6:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. with food and drinks. Tickets are available at: shavetosavevml.myshopify.com.
