This coming week, February 4-10, is another overflowing one for Orlando local music choices. Outside of the usual shows, there are quite a few annual events taking place this coming week along with a few special events.
Thursday is the one year anniversary for Ignition at Firestone live and also the monthly dose of RAW Artists at The Abbey.
The Old Florida Outdoor Festival is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Apopka Amphitheater (Apopka) featuring live local music from Orlando bands the Chad Cribb Band, Six Time Losers and the Greg Warren Band.
Saturday is packed full of events which include the Orlando Chili Cook-off at Festival Park benefitting The Florida Special Olympics with music from Orlando bands Control This! and the Kevin Maines Band. The Bad Art Show at the Imperial at Washburn Imports (Sanford) with live music from Orlando band Vova Zen.
The Orlando Folk Festival 2013 is taking place Saturday and Sunday at The Mennello Museum of American Art. There are many bands playing at the two day festival including Orlando area bands Mr. Richard, Thobos Lubamba, Crooked Road, The Silver Fleece, Eugene Snowden and Friends, Jordan Wynn, Larue Howard, Bing Futch, Laney Jones and The Mudflappers.
On Sunday afternoon at Wills Pub is Night out for Nicole a fundraising event featuring music from Orlando bands Under Arrested, Crowsfeet and DJ Kyle 2.0.

Orlando Chili Cook-off - Festival Park - 2911 East Robinson St. The fourth annual Orlando Chili Cook-off benefiting The Florida Special Olympics featuring live music from Orlando bands The Kevin Maines Band and Control This! plus Florida bands The Hip Abduction and ArtOfficial. The gates open at 12 p.m. for this all ages event. There are pre-sale tickets available for $7 (until Feb. 8) after that they will be $12 at the gate for adults, $3 for children 6-12 and children five and under are FREE. The event ends at 6 p.m.
Orlando Folk Festival 2013 - The Mennello Museum of American Art - 900 East Princeton St. The 11th Annual Orlando Folk Festival featuring live music from Orlando bands Mr. Richard (kids rock), Thobos Lubamba (African drums), Crooked Road (Celtic), The Silver Fleece (bluegrass/folk), Eugene Snowden and Friends (funky roots) and Jordan Wynn (country roots) with Bill and Eli Perras (folky blues), Paleface (singer/songwriter) and The Passing Afternoons (folk) for this all ages event. This event runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Admission is free to the outdoor festival, but regular admission prices apply to view the museum’s “African American Art: Harlem Renaissance, Civil Rights Era and Beyond” exhibition.
Bad Art Show - The Imperial at Washburn Imports - 116 E. 1st St. (Sanford) Apartment E presents the first of six planned Bad Art Shows an experimental night of fun to showcase and celebrate anything and everything greater Orlando has to offer, featuring live music from Orlando band Vova Zen.
