Four days and counting until we board Silversea Cruises Silver Spirit for a Caribbean cruise from Fort Lauderdale to San Juan, Puerto Rico and I’m still packing and happily so now that my wardrobe arrived from New Orleans’ Pret a Porter.
While your National Cruise Examiner knows her way around ships, she isn’t so savvy when it comes to packing, often piling enough in her luggage to clothe a small nation. But like most women I want lots of choices. So when I discovered all the fabulous, flouncy and pure silk Prêt à Porter designs at Kathy Duliakas Oscar swag suite last month I knew I had to get on line and order a cruise wardrobe. After all you can carry twice as much silk than other fabrics.
So I order me everything silk, save for a few cottons, shorts, dresses and tops. The package arrived today so now I can test my theory and start packing. I know it with all fit and when on board the super swank Silver Spirit or at the posh Le Toiny in St. Barths (where we are spending a shore day and night) I will be dressed for the part.
Back story of a designing woman:
Prêt à Porter Designs is the creation of designer Carrie Licciardi who founded the company in 2012. As all fashionistas know the name translates in French as "ready to wear", a mantra embraces the essence of the Licciardi’s designs. Check out her pieces at http://www.pretaporterdesigns.com/. If you’re anything like me you won’t be able to control your urge to shop. And if you’re planning to take a cruise you really want to condsider creating a top to bottom wardrobe from all the light and luscious styles. Prices range from $90 and up, but watch the video to see for yourself.
Also come back as I’ll be reporting live from the Silver Spirit and modeling myPret a Porter silk shorts, dresses and tops.
