A Florida man was executed in front of wife and child during home invasion

Maurice Harris, 36, was murdered in his own Miami, Florida home after two gunmen broke in for the purpose of robbing the building.

It is not known if the criminals were aware that the home was occupied by Maurice Harris, his wife of 14-years, and his 11-year-old daughter. When the two unknown suspects entered, guns blazing, they rounded up the family and held them at gunpoint. Once secured, one of the murderers searched the house for valuables while the other kept watch.

During this time the hostage takers held a gun to Harris' 11-year-old daughter's head, and the brave father lept to protect her daughter from the gunman. The killers showed no remorse or hesitation in shooting Maurice Harris multiple times, and then quickly fleeing the scene. According to the local reporting of nbcmiami.com Harris was rushed to the Ryder Trauma Center, and was pronounced dead.

Miami Police are currently searching for the two men responsible, but have not publicly acknowledged any leads.
