A few of the must-see, 2014 summer concerts in Chicago

See also

Once the weather starts heating up it's time to get ready for the summer concerts coming to town!

Here's a list of just a few of the great shows headed this way...

  • Black Label Society with Down

It won't be summer just yet but this is a show that will melt Chicago's foundation. The Revolver Golden Gods Tour featuring Black Label Society and Down, and with Devil You Know and Butcher Babies as well. Frankly, this show would be killer with Black Label Society or Down independently (Zakk Wylde - come on! Phil Anselmo - never a dull moment!), but put it all together and audiences are in for an epic night. It all takes place at Chicago's House of Blues on Tuesday, May 20 - click here for tickets.

  • Megadeth

Although it would be much more convenient if Megadeth had a show scheduled in Illinois, it doesn't look like that's going to happen - or at least not on this leg of the tour. Next best thing? The Venue at Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana. And although that is a bit of a drive, you've got time to call your friends an organize a (killing) road trip as the show is scheduled for Friday, July 18. Click here for tickets.

There's a whole lot of concert packed into this one night. Leave it to Aerosmith to rock the pants off of concert-goers, but adding Slash to the bill is enough to blow everything else away. The "Let Rock Rule" tour will be hitting the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park on Friday, July 25. Click here for tickets.

  • KISS with Def Leppard

No one puts on a show like KISS, no one. That may have a little to do with the fact that they've been doing it for four decades now, but it's mostly just bravado and awesomeness. With Def Leppard warming things up, check out KISS at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park on Saturday, August 16. Click here for tickets.

  • Alice in Chains with Monster Truck

With more than 14-million albums sold in the United States, and around 25-million worldwide, Alice in Chains simply won't have a problem coming up with one heck of a set-list. Still kicking butt on the road despite all the ups and downs that life can dish out, and they're headed this way. Monster Truck will be joining Alice in Chains on tour after a stint with Alter Bridge, and they'll be playing at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria on Monday, August 18. Click here for tickets.

  • Tesla

Tesla. Simply can't say enough good things about Tesla. New material or not, they're one of THE bands to see live. But fortunately for fans there is a new album entitled Simplicity, coming out this May - so everyone will have plenty of time to learn the new songs before their August 23 performance at the House of Blues in Chicago. And that's just a taste of the rock and roll summer 2014 has in store for us. Stay tuned for more! \m/
