A Feminine Touch in the Secret Service

The people who have the job of protecting the president and his family seemed to need protection themselves after the bad press in Cartagena a couple of months ago with prostitutes. That last straw may have caused the president and his crew to suggest a woman to head up the Secret Service now.

This woman, Julia Pierson, had filled most of the positions with the service and had worked her way up to being now the head of the group. That decision may have been the obvious one and it seems like a good idea.

Could this be the thinking of the future? So many of our top positions of power in this country have fallen to the very human failings of most men. The promiscuity that is seemingly all powerful in men is also what eventually brings them down.

Sex drives. Not always to good places. Maybe. It is usually not a woman's driving force.

The further truth also is that men can be forgiven in a lot of cases. Many of our most successful presidents were also known to have extra marital affairs. This included Franklin Roosevent, Eisenhower, Kennedy and Clinton. It was something most of their followers were able to overlook and it was proven out in their approval stats.

So, if we are able to go with a woman as head of the Secret Service, could this be a test to see if we are ready to have a woman named president of the United States in the next election? Maybe.
