"A Father For Brittany" is a movie based on the true story of Keith Lussier and his wife Kim Lussier, according to The Morning Call. The movie debuted on CBS in 1998 as a Sunday night movie. "A Father For Brittany" synopsis/plot

A father loses custody of his adopted daughter after his wife becomes ill and dies.

The movie has themes of child custody, adoption, death of a spouse and courtroom drama.

The real story made national headlines in 1994 when a father fought to retain custody of his adopted daughter after his wife's death. According to court records, an adoption agency stripped Keith Lussier of his rights to keep his child after his wife Kim Lussier died following an emergency hysterectomy.

Keith Lussier eventually regained custody of his daughter.
