“Longmire” (A&E) can be seen each Monday evening at 10/9 p.m. Last night's episode was called, “In the Pines.” The overnight cable TV ratings are not available. This is the 4th episode of the third TV season.
“Longmire” stars, Robert Taylor (Walt Longmire), Katee Sackhoff (Victoria “Vic” Moretti), Lou Diamond Phillips (Henry Standing Bear), Bailey Chase (Branch Connally), Cassidy Freeman (Cady Longmire) & Adam Bartley (The Ferg).
“In the Pines” opened with Walt playing the piano & looking at dozens of men with police records. Branch has a gun & is hunting a rabbit. He builds a fire to cook the rabbit. He cuts off a piece of his hair & throws it onto the rabbit. He then screams as he slices skin on his forearm with a knife. The blood drips onto the rabbit. Branch watches the rabbit go up in flames.
A man named Marshal is frantically running through the forest & reaches the park. He says he found a man named Adam Coffman dead & tried to revive him back to life. Walt figures that Adam was already dead by suffocation & received a blow to the head. He was part of a wilderness group which “The Ferg” was involved with years before as a teen.
Vic's husband named Sean enters the sheriff's office with an envelope. He wants a restraining order against the person who sent him a photograph of Vic & Walt in a motel at Arizona. Walt tells Sean they were on a case together. Sean thinks Ed took the photograph who is the man who followed Vic from Philadelphia to Absaroka last year. They don't know who took the picture though.
Walt noticed Branch's truck in the park area before, but he hasn't turned up. The Ferg looks for the other teens from the group. Back at the sheriff's office, the other group members tell Walt & Vic about a guy named Wolverine. He is a rebel who always questions authority & talks about death & killing. The Ferg finds a notebook filled with graphic images of blood, men & dying in the forest.
Walt & Vic go back to the park & Walt tells her about Sean's visit. As they go into the wilderness, The Ferg screams for them because he found a female group member lying on the ground below a high cliff. She is not moving & is presumed still alive. Walt ties a rope around himself & climbs down facing possible injury to himself. The girl is still alive & Walt puts her on his back. Vic & The Ferg pull them back up the cliff.
Why does Branch ask Henry to get some Peyote? Why did Branch ask for DNA samples from the local doctor? Did Wolverine Kill Adam? Is Vic still attracted to Ed Gorsky the man who stalked her? You can watch the full episode of “In The Pines” at Hulu.
