Earlier, A&E put Phil Robertson on an indefinite hiatus. Phil is on the hit reality TV show, “Duck Dynasty.” Now, A&E has changed their minds. According to Entertainment Weekly, Phil is no longer on hiatus and is back to being on the show.
Around nine days ago, A&E heard about the interview Phil had with GQ. When the interviewer asked Phil to give his thoughts on what constituted sinful behavior, Phil answered truthfully, "Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men."
Right after “Duck Dynasty" fans heard that Phil was kicked off the show, they started petitions to bring the patriarch back. The Robertson family wasn't sure if they would return for another season if Phil wasn't included. "Duck Dynasty" is the highest rated show on cable TV. The Robertsons make millions off their merchandise sales in stores like Cracker Barrel, Sears and Walmart. A&E stood to loose big bucks if the cast members didn't return to their channel.
A&E made the decision to reinstate Phil in the show.
On Friday, the Robertson's had an interview with FoxNews.com. The Robertsons said that they are,"excited to keep making a quality TV show for our dedicated fans, who have showed us wonderful support. We will continue to represent our faith and values in the most positive way through 'Duck Dynasty' and our many projects that we are currently working on.
"The outpouring of support and prayer has encouraged and emboldened us greatly."
A&E issued this statement, “While Phil's comments made in the (GQ) interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs, and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the ‘coarse language’ he used and the misinterpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would ‘never incite or encourage hate.’"
