A&E Network has cried "uncle" in regards to "Duck Dynasty's" Phil Robertson. Although the patriarch of the Robertson clan was suspended indefinitely from the mega-hit show for his remarks on homosexuality, he will be allowed to return to the show when the filming starts in spring 2014. According to a Dec. 27 article on Fox News, the network has reached an agreement based on the family’s admission that Phil Robertson’s remarks were coarse.
The Robertson family had previously stated that they could not imagine filming without Phil. In their announcement of the return of Phil Robertson, the network stressed that Phil had stated he would never “incite or encourage hate.”
Robertson drew an unexpected avalanche of support from right and left alike because he was expressing his religious beliefs, albeit in a very crudely-stated format, which is his style.
The Robertsons have expressed appreciation for the support they received throughout this ordeal which they said has “emboldened” them.
