A&E allows Phil Robertson back to film 'Duck Dynasty' after week-long suspension

It has been just a little over a week since controversy broke over comments “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson made in an interview with GQ. The A&E network subsequently suspended Robertson indefinitely which caused fans to become vocal about the punishment. Social media sites were bombarded with comments about Phil Robertson, many of them were in support of his rights to speak up about how he feels. According to a Dec. 27 report from Reuters, A&E has ended the suspension and Phil Robertson will return to production immediately. Fans and supporters are relieved.

Fans have backed Phil Robertson since the beginning claiming that his Christian beliefs are more important than anything else. “Duck Dynasty” shows plenty of what the Robertsons stand for as a family, including putting Christ first in all they do. Cracker Barrel originally yanked “Duck Dynasty” items from their store but then quickly backed down do to fan uproar. Several outlets remained behind Phil Robertson and the show, even after GLAAD challenged them.

After a grueling week and plenty of fan support, Phil Robertson will return to filming “Duck Dynasty” with his family at his side. This is proof that a fan base can move mountains for a show, good or bad. The new season of “Duck Dynasty” is set to air in 2014.
