A dozen former Buffalo Bisons on MLB post-season rosters

C.C. Sabathia, Cliff Lee and Victor Martinez headline the list of 12 former Buffalo Bisons playing in the 2012 major league post season.
All but one team — the Milwaukee Brewers — have at least one former Bisons player on the squad. The Tigers and Phillies lead all teams with three each. Along with Martinez, former IL Most Valuable Player Jhpnny Peralta and Omir Santos play for Detroit while Philadelphia has former IL Batting Champion Ben Francisco and Wilson Valdez in addition to Lee.
One former Bisons player has already made a huge stamp on this year’s post season. Kelly Shoppach hit two home runs and drove home five in Tampa Bay’s 9-0 victory in Game 1 over Mike Adams and the Texas Rangers.
Sabathia started Game 1 between the Yankees and the Tigers but the game was suspended after an inning and a half because of rain. Also on New York’s team is former Bison Freddy Garcia.
Former Bison Jake Westbrook pitches for the Cardinals while Jphn McDonald plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
