The Bay Area is a power player in the TASTY Awards, which celebrates "the year's best in food, fashion and home lifestyle programs on television, in film and online." This year's nominees were just announced this past week (yours truly was a judge, and I'm happy to say that most of my picks made it to the finals!).
Local favorites include celebri-chefs Tyler Florence (Wayfare Tavern, San Francisco) and Hubert Keller (Fleur de Lys and Burger Bar, San Francisco), along with quirky home cook Brian Boitano (yeah, that TASTY Award'll look nice next to your Olympic gold medal, Brian!).
The awards will be handed out in Hollywood, this January. Get ready to walk the red carpet, all you Bay Area contenders listed below - and congratulations!

Comments
Hello Gayle-- Thanks for the inclusion of FRESH (www.FRESHthemovie.com)! The creator of the documentary is actually Ana Sofia Joanes, not Michael Pollan. Ana did screen FRESH at several Bay Area theatres this year, so we hope you keep FRESH on your SF list. Many thanks, Wendy Knight (www.knightanddaycommunications.com)
