A very typical early August weekend is coming up for us weather-wise here in the Tri-State. With dew points in the lower 60s, it will feel slightly humid and we will couple that with warm high temperatures in the 80s.
A weak disturbance will roll through the area on Saturday. This weather system will likely set off scattered showers and thunderstorms possibly as early as the morning hours. It will be not be a total washout of a day, but scattered storms will be possible at any time through the early evening hours. Due to clouds and rain, temperatures will be held to the lower 80s.
Expect storms to taper off after 8 p.m. Saturday night as the boundary layer cools off. Lows will dip into the lower 60s.
We will see plenty of sunshine on Sunday allowing highs to head into the middle 80s. With the dew point hovering in the lower 60s, it will still feel a little bit humid.
The weather pattern will be relatively stagnant for this upcoming week. It will be a very typical week of weather for early August. Highs will be in the middle 80s with lows in the middle 60s. A few isolated storms are possible on Wednesday and again towards the end of the week. The good news with this forecast is that pool fans will finally have some decent weather and not get cold at the pool!
The current forecast for August is calling for near or slightly below normal temperatures. While some more hot summer days are likely, the overall cool trend may continue on the average.
