A Day in the Past: Farmers Museum in Cooperstown

This is the time of year when the Farmers Museum in Cooperstown comes to life.  The fall is harvest season, as we all know, which means that this museum, which works to recreate the ways of yesteryear will be a busy, busy place.

If you have never been to the Farmers Museum in Cooperstown, then not only will this be a great way to entertain the kids for the day, but also a wonderful experience for you!  There you will find Lippitt Farmstead, an actual farm operating as it would have in the mid-nineteenth century.  The historic village pays respects to other professions and aspects of the olden days. But, when you’ve had enough of the history, you can come right back to today.  The kids will love the carousel, the horse drawn carriage rides, and, of course, the gift shop.  All are there for you to enjoy with your children throughout the operational season.  Farmers Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, from ten to four.  The experience will cost you twelve dollars for adults and six dollars for each child over seven.  But the youngsters, active military, and veterans are always free!
