For some brief guidance on holiday shopping for a tablet please see the attached Monkey See video. The rest of this tablet comparison list will be segmented into "Full size tablets" and "Mini tablets". That break down is inspired by the (arguable) benchmarks of tablets: the iPad Air and the iPad Mini. The other tablets that fall in the "Full size" range - here - are the: Amazon Kindle HD 8.9", the Amazon Kindle HDX 8.9", the B+N Nook HD+, the Galaxy Note 10.1, the Nokia 2520, the Microsoft Surface 2 and the Microsoft Surface Pro 2. The other tablets that fall in the "Mini size" range - here - are the: Amazon Kindle Fire HD, Amazon Kindle Fire HDX, the B+N Nook HD and the Google Nexus 7.
Tablets configured strictly for children are not reviewed in this article. Prices and specifications are set mainly by the manufacturers and cannot be guaranteed by the Examiner. Apple has prepared a brief video article on its iPad Air. The Wall Street Journal has prepared an excellent video article on a break down of the new iPad Mini. CNET has published a rather excellent video article on the relatively new Nook HD and made a brief comparison with the Nexus 7 tablet.
Wall Street Journal Live has posted a video review of the new Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet - and noted (lamentably) how similar it is to the Microsoft Surface 2. Alex Wilhelm of TechCrunch probably has the best video review of any of the tablets - the Microsoft Surface 2 and the Surface Pro 2. Kudos to Alex for that excellent presentation. If you skip the video do view the comparison chart/photo to see the big price difference between these two tablets.
The Daily Orbit has put together a quick but helpful descriptive video list of the new Kindle Fire tablets. The Kindle Fires may appear last but not least with that delightful Mayday button feature. That concludes this holiday comparison tablet shopping list for now.
