The UK Telegraph recently ran a story about a group of rare Beatles photos being auctioned by Duke's Auctioneers in the UK Aug. 11.

We contacted Duke's and were able to get images of three pictures being sold. Not all of these were visible in the Telegraph story.

You can see all three pictures in the slideshow at the bottom.

As the story states, the pictures were taken at the Askers Road House Hotel in Bridport, Dorset. John Lennon is shown playing with a Box Brownie camera. Other photos show the Beatles posing with the hotel manager and in a car. The hotel manager has since died. Her daughter has put the photos up for sale.

Amy Brennan, assistant auctioneer and valuer at Duke's, who sent us the photos, is quoted in the story as saying, "They were taken in the mid-60s, possibly in 1966/67 because that's when they played in Bournemouth along the coast and went down into Devon," though she acknowledges "big Beatles fans will be able to work it out, I'm sure."

When we first wrote about them in an earlier column, the consensus from the comments of readers was the photos were from 1963, which seems logical given their young look.

I looked into this in other forums and, based on Lewisohn and Google Maps, determined that the photos were taken during the daylight hours of October 30, 1964.
