Moms and dads, boys and girls … there’s a circus coming to Carolina Place on Saturday, March 16. The annual Spring Family Festival will include a carnival atmosphere with games, clowns, crafts, a magician, a hula hoop demonstration and free, fresh-spun cotton candy.
The event is free and will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the mall’s Center Court. A ringmaster will guide kids through the day, which will feature:
· A hula hoop demonstration from Cara Zara.
· A magic act from Zelnik the Magician. · Clown comedy and tricks from Circus Daze.
· Carnival games, including a Goldilocks and the Three Bears bean bag toss, Tip the Clowns - where you throw a ball to knock down clowns, and High Striker – testing kids’ strength by hitting a lever with the hammer to try and ring the bell. Crafts for spring and Easter from Small Hands, Big Art.
· A special appearance from the Easter Bunny, who will be at the mall from March 9 to March 30. Photos can be taken from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays at the Bunny Set located in Dillard’s Court.
The Spring Family Festival is part of an ambitious schedule for Carolina Place in 2013. The mall has organized more than 25 family-friendly events this year, including holiday activities, movie nights and back-to-school events.
“This is a fun way for the entire family to kick off spring,” said Carolina Place General Manager Susan Barwick. “We’ve always been a great family shopping destination, but this is another example of how we’re also a great source of family fun.”
