Low pressure over Minnesota this morning will track southeastward across the lower Great Lakes this afternoon and through the Ohio Valley tonight. Scattered flurries are possible across northeastern Ohio through early this afternoon, then snow will gradually spread across the area by late this afternoon.
Snow will continue across the area tonight as the low passes to our south. Accumulations are expected to be light with the highest amounts of an inch or two expected across the south.
A few scattered snow showers will linger across the area on Sunday.
On Monday, an arctic cold front will drop southward across the state accompanied by widespread snow showers and gusty winds.
Here is the forecast: For today, scattered flurries possible this morning, then snow showers developing late in the day. Highs will be around 20. Winds SW 10-15 mph.
Tonight, occasional snow likely. Lows will be in the mid teens. Winds S 5-10 mph.
Sunday, mostly cloudy and breezy with a chance of snow showers with highs near 30. Winds W 15-25 mph with higher gusts.
Sunday night, mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Lows will be in the mid 20s.
On Monday, it will be mostly cloudy with snow showers likely. Temperatures will climb to the upper 20s early, then fall during the afternoon.
Looking ahead: A significant arctic outbreak is expected through the middle of next week. We will see a chance of snow showers Monday night and Tuesday as bitterly cold air spreads across the area. Lows Monday night will fall to around 5 degrees with highs on Tuesday in the low teens.
Tuesday night will be mostly cloudy with lows around 0. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with highs in the low to mid teens
Snow showers will return Wednesday night and Thursday as another clipper crosses the area. Lows Wednesday night will be around 0 with highs on Thursday in the upper teens to around 20 degrees.
