A cartoon history: Johnny Bravo

Johnny Bravo is a vain, narcissistic, and not too intelligent Elvis Presley look-alike and Fonzi act- alike, whose personality is nevertheless endearing.  The harmless nature of his conceit can be seen as he primps before the mirror, and heard through his comments.  For example, when he is captured by a bear who threatens to eat him, Johnny quickly and sincerely retorts, “I’m to purdy to eat.”

He constantly chases women.  He is cocky, but clueless, and not the most successful at tracking down love interests.  He often chooses the wrong women; ones with boyfriends.  In a short before the series actually began, he could be seen pursuing a female zookeeper by attempting to capture a runaway gorilla.  Johnny would feverishly stoop to any level.

The show started on the Cartoon Network, and is seen as a 1990s classic.  It ran for seven years with reruns following, even returning to Cartoon Network in 2009.  The show can be currently seen on Boomerang.
