A busy pet weekend in Montreal

Now that you know about The Montreal Dachshund Association's 3rd annual Wiener Dog Race, here are a few other great pet-related charity events going on this weekend in Montreal.

The Beaconsfield Pet Fair

West Islanders are getting pet-friendly this weekend too!  Beaconsfield is turning 100 and will celebrate with pets on parade!  And every single one of them is a pet that's been adopted.   It's a unique way to spread the word about the importance of animal adoption.   And if you're curious about adopting your own pet, you can stop by and chat with any of the 17 rescue organizations that will be on site.

Here are the details:

  • WHAT: Beaconsfield Pet Fair
  • WHERE:  Centennial Hall Park in Beaconsfield
  • WHEN:  Saturday, Sept. 11th from 11a - 4p
  • WHAT ELSE:  A BBQ, live music, crafts, pet trick contest, blessing of the pets and more!
  • INFO:  Hilarie Harubin at 514-783-1020

The SPCA Monteregie Dog Walk

The SPCA Monteregie is a no-kill shelter that relies entirely on donations. This is their biggest event of the year and it's always a great time.  It's your chance to get some exercise in a beautiful park, meet some mutts, check out the demonstrations and raise money for a great cause.   Here are the details:

WHEN:  Sunday September 12th 10am - 2pm

WHERE:  St. Lambert Seaway Park on Riverside Drive (lots of free parking!)
