A brief taste of spring

A cold front sliding across the southern Great Lakes brings rain and snow showers to West Michigan for Friday morning. Cold air slides in behind this system with temperatures cooling all day. We dip into the upper 30s by early evening. Saturday will be dry but chilly with highs only in the upper 30s and low 40s.

We rocket into the above average temperature range with highs in the upper 50s inland and low 50s at the lakeshore for Monday. However that may be short lived as the long range outlook from 4 to 10 April, indicates that another blast of chilly air is possible.

That warm air on Monday will certainly melt much if not all of the remaining snow cover. Combine that with the falling rain, and the flood threat is slowly increasing across the area. Minor flooding, especially in the low lying areas, is likely during the coming week. Clink this link for the latest river forecast.
