A brief look at vampires and the Soap Opera

Some probably don't think too much about it, but the vampire and the Soap Opera are good friends. With the decline of Soap Operas in America, it takes a worth look at the vampire and Soaps.

Many have heard of "Dark Shadows," well this Gothic Soap Opera decided to throw in a vampire in the plot and the ratings proved it was a smart idea. Barnabas Collins is still a pop culture figure.

"Passions," was another strange Soap that had vampires, witches, ghosts, and other weird things in the mix with melodrama. It was also talked about on a hit vampire show, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

"Port Charles," a spinoff of "General Hospital," introduced a vampire character named Caleb. Just last year GH, had Lucy Coe (she was a vampire hunter on Port Charles) come back and make a funny experience that involved her storyline in "Port Charles."

So that's just a sample of these bloodsuckers that have graced the Soap Opera screen.
