In case you haven't been outside in Colorado for the past month here's a news flash: Spring feels like the winter we never really had.  Arapahoe Basin was looking pretty bare in March and now it's looking like it could stay open through the summer.  With unpredictable weather bringing storm after storm followed by great spring weather we all enjoy, it's no wonder the parking lots are full. http://www.arapahoebasin.com

One thing Arapahoe Basin has going for them which not many other resorts have is "The Beach". If you arrive at A-Basin early enough you may luck out and get one of those "reserved for someone awesome" parking spots.  Or you may luck out and know someone who has one of those spots.  Two Saturdays ago was one of those lucky days. The Boulder Snowboarding Group http://www.ridebsg.com, Vans www.vans.com, and Satellite board shop www.satelliteboardshop.com all teamed up to have a great b.b.q. that included free food and free swag.  Almost everyone went home with at least a hot dog and some stickers. Some of those who were lucky enough got a Vans t-shirt or the ever elusive koozie.

If you have kids A-Basin is also a great place. The Beach or Early Riser parking lot backs up to the beginner lift so you can hang out, cook on the grill, and watch the kids make hot-laps on the Molly Hogan lift.  If you are that guy looking to further your skills, the Treeline Terrain park is your slush filled answer.

So be on the lookout for more events because the season only has about three weeks left.  Get to Arapahoe Basin today!!! www.arapahoebasin.com
