Legendary West-Coast venture Capitalist William H. Draper III was last night at the Orrick Building in San Francisco, in an event created by BAIA, the Business Association Italy America.
The occasion was the promotion of Mr. Draper's book, "The Startup Game", which he dedicates to his family, a three-generation venture capitalist sort of brand for start-ups in the world.
Last night's conversation was led by Federico Faggin, the Italian designer of the first microprocessor, the Intel 4004.
William H. Draper III links his name to success stories like Skype and Open Table, but he also devoted some years to the public service, when was appointed by Ronald Reagan to lead the US Export-Import Bank, and later became Administrator of the United Nations Development Program.
Back to venture capitalism, he mainly operated in India. He recently dedicated part of his activity to venture philanthropy.
