A little girl is training to be a tattoo artist, just like her dad, but at seven-years-old is this a safe job? According to Fox News on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, Alicia Gutierrez is training at her dad’s tattoo parlor in Abilene, Texas.
According to her dad and Alicia when interviewed by Fox today, she doesn’t get nervous while giving the customers tattoos. This little girl is all about following in her father’s footsteps.

When Alicia and her father appeared on Fox News live today, she was wearing gloves as she worked on a flower a tattoo, just as her father was, but is this safe? She is just seven after all and working around blood can lead to all kinds of diseases and infections if an accident should happen. Since she is not of legal age to make an adult decision about working around bodily fluids, should she really be allowed to tattoo folks?
Just one prick of the needle could cause problems if the person is someone with a disease or an illness that’s transmitted through blood, according to the CDC. While she looks absolutely adorable with the tattoo instrument in her hand and inking what looked like a flower, keeping her safe should be the main concern.
How do customers react to getting tattooed by a seven-year-old? They probably think it’s cute, but tattoos are an ever-lasting body art, so you might want it professionally done the first time.
Alicia’s Dad has been a tattoo artist since he was 14 and while Alicia has a ways to go with her training, dad thinks she’ll be ready to be a tattoo artist and work on her own by the time she is 12.
