Superman fans will be in for a real treat this May as DC announced a four issue series called War of the Supermen, written by James Robinson and Sterling Gates. The entire series will all take place in the time span of 100 minutes, each issue being 25 minutes long. Hopefully, it won't take readers 25 minutes to read each issue. Of course, the plus side to that is that you'd be living it in real-time. Comic book readers can look forward to a new issue every Wednesday as the entire series will complete it's run in May.
May also happens to be Free Comic Book Day, an annual event that takes place on the first Saturday of May when participating comic book specialty shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their shops. Bring kids and a camera along as some comic book stores have people dressed up in costumes.
The series will follow War of the Supermen #0, DC Comics free comic book offering during Free Comic Book Day 2010. The issue will send new readers up to speed on the event and serves as a countdown to the war.
