$99 Kindle Fire reports are just a rumor according to Amazon

Fans got really excited today when they heard rumors of a $99 Kindle Fire. That would be a great deal for a Kindle, but Amazon says it is not true at all. On March 20, CNET posted that this is just hogwash according to Amazon.

Techcrunch reported that they were trying to make a 7 inch Kindle Fire that would only cost $99, but Amazon says that they this won't be happening. They are saying that they already have the Kindle at the lowest price that they can get it at right now.

It would be great if they could drop the price to $99 but they already lose money on the sales they get now. They seem to make up a lot of it on people buying the content such as games and books for the devices. This does make it where they can charge a bit less for the actual Kindle.

Are you upset that the $99 Kindle Fire won't be happening? Sound off in the comments on your thoughts.
