911 for a cheeseburger: Man calls 911 nine times for cheeseburgers, got arrested

Calling 911 for a cheeseburger is a bad idea. One man called 911 nine times to get cheeseburgers, though, and has been arrested as a result. Apparently he thought it was an emergency and that he needed those cheeseburgers right away. A report from Tuesday (Feb. 26) states that 52-year-old Gregory Jackson Sr. called 911 nine times in about 90 minutes.

Despite not having success in the first few calls, Jackson kept calling them back. Eventually the police were sent to his house and placed Jackson under arrest. Additionally, despite all his hard effort to order cheeseburgers over the phone, the police did not arrive on scene with any of them.

It might seem like common knowledge that the 911 emergency line isn't supposed to be used for ordering fast food, but that fact apparently missed Jackson. The police in the area might have had a good sense of humor about the incident as well, because they haven't charged him with anything in regard to the calls. The reason Jackson got arrested was that he had an outstanding warrant in the system.

This should definitely serve as an example of why it is bad to call 911 for a cheeseburger. Even though it might sound like a humorous event, he could have tied up valuable resources should a real emergency have taken place at the same time.
