Police have arrested a Texas woman after she made a 911 call for cigarettes. According to reports, the 48-year-old Hood County woman, whose name has not been released, made the 911 call as a joke, but sheriff's deputies didn't find the 911 call for cigarettes funny at all. Hood County sheriff's Lt. Kathy Jividen says that the woman was very intoxicated when she made the 911 call, CBS Local reported on Feb. 19.
Police say that after dispatch answered the 911 call on Feb. 11 at 1:18 a.m., they heard a man and a woman chatting in the background.
The woman then said, “I need some cigarettes.”The intoxicated and boneheaded woman then provided her name and address to dispatch.
After police were dispatched to the residence, she was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor count of abuse of 911. She was released from custody at the Hood County jail after posting a $1,000 bond.
