Bootie LA, the Los Angeles branch of the worldwide "mashup bootleg dance party" known as Bootie, will be featuring all things 90s on Saturday, March 2. Hosted at the Echoplex in Echo Park, the bi-monthly Bootie LA provides a quirky club experience unlike any other.
A Plus D and DJ Shyboy and will be spinning unique mashups of all genres of hits from the 90s, with dance crew Random Acts of Irreverent Dance performing a special “Midnight Mashup Show” and providing goofy go-go entertainment throughout the rest of the evening.
Adding to the fun will be a Scene Snaps photo booth and promotional giveaways from the upcoming film, 21 and Over.
The party starts at 9 p.m. with free mashup CDs offered to the first 100 people to enter the building. A formidable line is known to form at the door, so arriving early is a good idea anyway. Furthermore, anyone who reaches the door before 10 p.m. will receive a five dollar discount off the 15 dollar cover charge.
Like almost anywhere else in Los Angeles, parking can be hard to find. There is a free lot behind the Echoplex, but don’t expect to find any open spaces unless you arrive quite early. Parking on the street somewhere in the surrounding neighborhood may be an option for those willing to walk. Otherwise, valet parking is available for nine dollars.
