Cameras will follow Doherty and her fiancé, celebrity photographer Kurt Iswarienko, as they plan their wedding (meeting with wedding planners, choosing a venue) in a new WEtv unscripted show, Entertainment Weekly reported. It will also showcase the couple renovating her Malibu home.
“People will see a side of Shannen they never expected to see,” said WEtv executive John Miller, who was sold on the concept after watching a pitch tape by Doherty and producers showing the actress “unfiltered, honest and vulnerable, Entertainment Weekly reported.
The show, which has not yet been titled, is set to premiere in January. The couple's wedding will play out on the show's season finale.
Doherty played the iconic character Brenda Walsh on the original "Beverly Hills, 90210" and briefly reprised her role on the CW's new "90210." She had a bad-girl reputation in the 1990s during the original show's run, but showed a softer side when she recently appeared on the reality show "Dancing With The Stars."
What do you think about Shannen Doherty's upcoming show? Will you watch? Will she find the same success that fellow "90210" alum Tori Spelling (Donna Martin) has on the Oxygen network with her reality shows? Sound off below!
