Does your body know the difference between animal and vegetable protein? Research in China shows that osteoporosis is practically unheard of there and only appears when animal protein is more prevalent in the diet. So does arteriosclerosis, kidney stones, cataracts and cancer. Eskimos eat the highest rate of meat in their diet of anyone on the planet and twice the RDA of calcium but the highest rate of osteoporosis. Why is this? The research says that meat causes you to excrete calcium. Women need more protein per pound than men.
Good plant sources of protein
Seafood and seaweed have the highest concentrations of protein, iron, minerals and vitamins. Whole grains, nuts, and beans. Depression and fatigue disappear when you had more protein to your diet.
Getting your feet ready for summer
Have you pulled those socks off lately and taken a good look at your piggies? What about your heels and ankles? Toenail fungus? Give yourself a pedicure. If you haven’t been sloughing the dead skin off your skin all winter now is the time to get started. Break out the loofah or DIY some seas salt in with some sunflower oil, and the moisturizer (all moisturizers in the linked article can be found at Whole Foods Market and are organic and labeled no GMO) and have a go at those feet. Trim your toenails straight across, buff them (guys stop here), and apply some cool new spring polish color.
