A 9-year-old gives birth and Mexican authorities are searching for a 17-year-old, allegedly the father. The baby and underage mom, who did not realize she was with child until her seventh month, are healthy and resting, according to authorities in a Wednesday conference.
Citing a report from ABC News on Feb.6 report, the child mom gave birth on Jan. 27 in Jalisco, Mexico. Obviously, this sounds more like a horrible or unthinkable hoax. However, by all accounts, the 9-year-old girl gave birth to a healthy baby.
Lino Ginzalez Corona, from the local prosecutor's office spoke to the young mom, who told her she was involved in a "loving relationship." However, she is taking much of what the girl says with a grain of salt.
"Due to her young age, we don’t know if she is being entirely truthful," Corona said.
The girl only referred to as Dafne, lives with her parents and 10 other siblings in a small town. Most of the residents suffer from poverty. In fact, the girl's parents work long hours far away from home.
Authorities believe this is why they were likely unaware their child was having sex.
Officials say the 9-year-old girl gave birth by way of C-Section due to her undeveloped body and organs.
At this time, prosecutors want to talk to the alleged father, who is said to have left town when the girl refused to move in with him.
It's unknown if there will be any charges and at this time the girl is not sharing much about his identify. Imagine that?
