A 9-year-old girl has given birth in Mexico and the father is currently being hunted down by authorities, according to UPI.com. The girl, named Dafne, gave birth to a baby girl, and has been released by the hospital in Jalisco.
Dafne gave birth on January 27, and the man is at large, he hasn't been located yet. There is suspicion surrounding the birth of the baby by such an under aged girl. The 17-year-old man could have raped or molested the girl.
In spite of the adverse conditions of this birth, the baby was born by Cesarean section, and is healthy, weighing over 5lbs. The young girl’s parents have 9 other children, and work long hours away from the home. The children are left many hours alone.
There are other cases of babies born to young girls even under the age of 9. Their underdeveloped bodies take a beating in the birthing process, and to add injury to insult, perhaps a rape.
Let's hope the authorities track down the 17 year old man who is responsible, and hopefully see to it that he dosen't impregnate another girl like this.
