A few months ago, a picture of Ken feeding the stray dogs in his community went viral over the internet. Ken has been feeding the stray dogs in his community since he was a very small child. Once the picture went viral, he started to receive donations from all around the world. With those donations, Ken was able to rent an empty lot which allowed him to remove the dogs off the street, and start feeding them a healthy diet. The dogs are now receiving the vet care they desperately needed.

Ken’s dream is to turn the empty lot into the very first no-kill shelter in the Philippines. His goal is to start rescuing the dogs from the city pound, because only 20 percent of the dogs will ever make it out of that shelter alive. Ken is now raising the money to build the kennels he will need to house the dogs he will rescue.

“The next step will be to raise enough money to care for as many dogs as possible. Also, we need to make a system for finding the dogs good homes when they are ready. This is a big challenge because in the Philippines most people want pure breed dogs. They don't like mutts, even though mutts are just as smart, just as loyal, and just as loving.” Ken stated.

This is one boy that is paying it forward for the animals. If you would like more information on his progress, or would like to donate, check out the Happy Animal Club website.
