At least 9 companies are choosing ad:tech San Francisco 2011, April 12 as the day to launch something new.
This is the 4th year for Blogging Examiner to be at ad:tech and the innovation, new ideas....and strange ones, too...never seem to disappoint.
The press room is filling up, power point slides are being flipped through, and the new company representatives are lining up to give their spiel, make their pitch and hope...to be the next big adserver, adbroker, interface and the like.
The exhibit hall is buzzing, and frankly that's where most of the connections are made. Blogging Examiner made a contact on the exhibit hall floor some four years ago, and that ad provider is still serving ads for BE. In this business, long term relationships are about as long as the average American marriage.
Clickbooth - Launching a CPC (cost per click) network. Founded in 2002...Hmm...nothing new here. 50K publishers and 4K advertisers. The new intiative is by invitation only.
MadeInSocial - social CRM (customer relationship management). Sentiment analysis - translate positive and negative feedback in the social spaces. Bilingual - English and Spanish. Can track what is being said about you, your blog, your site in the social circles.
Aytm - ask your tarket market. Takes surveys of target markets by request. This one is pretty cool...IF....it is affordable. Kind of like a surveymonkey, but much cooler. Can also be sent to your own email list. Have partnered with uSamp. Exact regions, states, cities can be specified! US market only. 8-(
loyalize - audience participation company. Way more than social TV. A way to engage the audience that is watching your program. Mood-o-meter will tell the mood of the watchers. It analyzes the audience. Can poll people who are watching a live event. Will he make the foul shot?! Can be used as a debate tracker! Audience will be rewarded with coins, badges, etc. that can be redeemed. Any kind of event, speeches, sermons. Runs on Android, Blackberry, etc. Profanity filters, etc.
Gutcheck - on demand, live conversation with your target market. Respondents have opted in so there are no violations of privacy. Validation steps are taken to make sure the respondents are who they say they are.
Modapt - translates a web site to mobile form. Recruiting resellers. Need a job? Your site can be made mobile friendly.
GetGlue - social network for entertainment. Already has 1 million users and 500K checkins daily. Daily reach is 30M! Users are rewarded with stickers, etc. Checkins via QR codes are being announced today. Readers are rewarded for interacting with advertisements. The ad becomes social, not just informative. Click on an AD and get a coupon for a movie, or a sticker or some other such incentive.
Kiip - $4 million received in funding. Banner ads...boring..ugly. Hmm... Capitalizes on moments-based advertisements. When someone reaches a level in a game....blast them with an ad. Real rewards for tangible achievements. Get a top score in a game you are playing and be rewarded with a coupon, etc. 12M active players. Reacht them when they win. Based on iPhone and Android. Partnerships with Carls Jr, Dr Pepper, Sony, PopChips, Sephora, etc....
Snapapp - engages and acquires customers on Facebook, Twitter, Websites, Mobile with a quiz or poll.
