How I Met Your Mother co-creator and executive producer Carter Bays said over the summer that there's a good chance your favorite guest star will reappear at some point during the show's farewell season, and fans who enjoyed Bryan Cranston as Ted's crazy boss way back in season two can officially start rejoicing.
CBS announced the guest spot in a tweet yesterday, saying that Cranston will appear "later this fall."
TV Guide also reported on Wednesday that Cranston will indeed reprise his role as Hammond Druthers, who dedicated viewers will remember as the boss Ted eventually fired from the architecture firm he worked at several seasons ago. The Breaking Bad star only appeared in two episodes but made a big enough impression to appear in an episode this season. Since the whole season will be handling Robin and Barney's wedding weekend on Long Island, there's no telling how this blast from Ted's past will show up.
Other guest stars reportedly scheduled to appear this season are John Lithgow, Frances Conroy, and Wayne Brady, all of whom are related to Barney and will most likely meet up with the gang for the big wedding.
How I Met Your Mother season nine premiered this week and airs evey Monday at 8/7c on CBS.
