People who are interested in booking tickets for the historic opening day of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum can now book free tickets online, the museum announced today in a press release.

Condé Nast is sponsoring free admission for the museum's opening day, scheduled for May 21. The museum will be open from May 21 to Sept. 21 every day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

"I sincerely believe others will be inspired by Condé Nast's generosity in supporting the 9/11 Memorial Museum in this special way," 9/11 Memorial President Joe Daniels said in a statement. "Helping the public visit this historic Museum is a direct way to uphold our collective obligation to never forget."

Advance reservations are required to visit the museum, which can be booked on the museum's official website. Following the museum's opening day, admission will be $24 for adults; $18 for seniors, veterans and college students; and $15 for youth ages 7 to 17.

Admission is free for children ages 6 and under as well as the families of victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks and rescue and recovery workers who are registered with the Memorial. Admission will also be free from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evenings.

The museum, which has 110,000 square feet of exhibition space, documents the stories of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and the 9/11 attacks through archives, multimedia displays, narratives and monumental artifacts, according to the official website.
