This is one of those subjects that I expect to be criticized for even mentioning. Almost everyone seems to call anyone who doesn't completely agree with them on this topic all kinds of nasty names. Maybe no one will read this and I'll avoid the usual fate.
There are a lot of conspiracy theories concerning the events of September 11, 2001. Regardless of what those on both sides say, you and I will never know the absolute truth of exactly what happened on those planes or in the destroyed buildings- or anywhere else we weren't. Never. Not unless time travel becomes possible (don't hold your breath) and you can personally go watch the events for yourself with no interference. And even then, how could you ever be sure that people with their own time machine and an agenda haven't meddled before you got there? Enough with the fantasy scenario.
The fact that so many people doubt the government version of events shows that a lot of people recognize the simple fact that government employees will lie to protect the status quo, or to advance the cause of a more powerful government- every time they get the opportunity. Governments always lie to the boss. As an aside- That "boss" would be anyone in the country who is not a politician or a bureaucrat. The most pitiful and hopeless homeless guy sleeping off a drinking binge under the bridge outranks any congresscritter or president that has ever existed. Everyone who works for government should be reminded of that fact of life at every opportunity. Now, back to the point.....
At a bare minimum it is true that without the US government's meddling and bullying, the attacks of "9/11" would never have occurred. How much farther the guilt goes is forever lost to the past, and will forever be subject to speculation and fraud. But I hope people never stop digging.
Whether there is any truth to the "9/11 Truth" movement or not, it is absolutely essential to freedom to suspect government of complicity in everything that could possibly be its fault. You must know, if you are paying attention, that governments lie. If you have a known pathological liar in your life, it is healthier to distrust every word he utters, until verified by you, than it is to take his words at face value. He may be telling the truth occasionally, but you can't take the chance. So it is with government. Government is a lying axe-murderer with rabies in your bed. Trust it at your own peril.

I've always liked what George Norry had to say on conspiracies-particularly the 9/11 ones: "I don't necessarily buy any of the theories, but I do agree with them on one thing; they don't trust the government, and neither do I"
Frankly, that "conspiracy theorist" has become a pejorative is itself rather interesting...
Personally, I tend to think there are plenty of other places more worthy of the time and effort-but I certainly could be wrong.

Well, I've known the govt. "conspiracy theory" was a lie for the past 4 years. Since we will probably never know all the details the only thing that matters is that they lied, and we know it. They maim and kill millions of innocent people, what makes people think lying is anything to them?

nobodysaysBOO- That is why it is foolish to believe the results of any "official" investigation. They are not concerned with finding truth; only with satisfying the voters. "Crime" is just a word for doing something the government doesn't want you to do. That is why it is not a "crime" if the prez does it. It can still be wrong. To expect the government to punish their own is not realistic. The answer doesn't lie with government, nor does it lie in abandoning our homes to the bad guys. Good guys are all around you, but they don't work for the state in any capacity.
There was no conspiracy on 911. That just happened to be the day God decided to change the laws of physics and gravity. :-)

The thing about a "911 truther or conspiracy theorist" is that we base our theory from facts, It's not the who, why and how that needs to be explained. It only requires first excepting the fact of whether you honestly believe fire caused 3 high rise buildings to collapse striaght into it's path of most resistence at free fall speed. Two planes, three buildings, free fall speed. The edvidence is overwhelming and that is the only thing which is important, once you cannot disprove 911 was a series of controlled demolitions, it will be than be up to a criminal investigation to answer who, why and how. We don't deal in conspricay theories, we deal in conspricay facts.
Well, whats three thousand bodies to move your agenda forward when thats about a months worth of highway fatalities. A drop in the bucket. A very theatrical event to be sure but certainly not the result of incompetent single engine pilots morphing into jet jockeys on the day in question. Or the vanishing of aircraft that purportedly slam into a building or an empty field. Never have I seen "wreckage" disappear so completely. If they can find remains from the space shuttle from five astronauts scattered over countless miles of Texas countryside but two planes full of people slip this dimension with nary a suitcase, engines, seats, or wheel assembly to remind you of their existance then you know damn good and well you're being lied to. And everything afterwards, all the actions taken, only solidify and build upon this root lie.
