Some topics and breakout sessions for parents and those who work with children with disabilities include math, reading obstacles and strategies, conflict management and resolution, assistive technology, guardianship, behavior modification, ECI, sibling support, the ARD process, mental health, transition planning, and estate and financial planning.

The conference also includes programming directed towards teens with disabilities. Some topics and breakout sessions open to teenagers are self-advocacy, employment, planning for the future, and college.

The conference schedule includes four sessions, from 9 a.m.to 10:15, from 10:45 to noon, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45, and from 3:00 to 4:15. Registration begins at 8 a.m., although it is highly suggested that attendees register online at https://s.zoomerang.com/s/ParentConference3-2-13 in advance because sessions will be filled in a first-come/first-served basis, and the more popular sessions may fill early. In most cases, the sessions will be capped at 30 to 35 attendees. Pre-registration is now open, but it will close on February 24th or when 475 registrations have been completed.

The exhibits/resource fair is open from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. only. There will be more than 60 local and state agencies, service providers, and vendors at the fair. Attendees who only want to attend the resource fair do not need to pre-register.

For more information, brochures are available online at http://www.familytofamilynetwork.org/events/parent-conference-a-resource-fair in both English and Spanish.
