An 86-year-old man shot himself after shooting his grandson and his girlfriend on Friday evening in Staten Island, the Staten Island Advance reported on Saturday morning.

At 6 p.m. on Friday, 86-year-old Heriberto Pagan, of Brooklyn, shot his 47-year-old grandson, who was not identified, as well as his girlfriend, 28-year-old Claritle Christina Huerta, in the head at a house in Rosebank — his grandson outside the house and Huerta inside the house. Pagan got into his car and left to Rockwell and Clifton Avenues, where he shot himself in the head.

Police recovered a .38-caliber pistol at the scene. Pagan was taken to Richmond University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Huerta, who was taken to Staten Island University Hospital, was also pronounced dead. Pagan's grandson is in critical condition at Staten Island University Hospital.

Huerta and Pagan's grandson's 4-month-old son was found unharmed inside the house, CBS New York reported. He is now in the custody of the Administration for Children's Services.
